Loss, Memory and Regeneration
The first three paintings were created three months after the death of my wife in 2015. I focused on three subjects; a jar of pills left after her passing, her hiking hat and one of her doll's with an animal mask.
The second group of paintings, created five months after her passing, were based on observations of fallen trees in Oregon. I explored regeneration after a trauma through process, color and light using water based oil paint.
