2019/2020 Passages
My newest body of work combines water based oil paint, prints from photographs (taken by me) and engraved metal wood blocks used by newspapers and printers before digital imaging. The photographs were taken during visits to north Florida, Upper Michigan and South Dakota. I have included several older paintings that relate to the current series through the use of a "split narrative" format, arranging disparate imagery in a side-by-side arrangement.
I am pleased to include the insightful essay titled "Lost and Found" by noted critic Christopher Schnoor that traces the development of my work over the past 5 years. It is listed on the main menu.
